Is there a way of using 2 monitor on a system w/o extending the desktop to activate your 2nd one?

I want to run the 2 as totally seprate independent monitors

?

I'm not sure exactly what you want to do. Seperate monitors as in?

When you choose "Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" it doesn't literally extend it... it appends the resolution.

So say you're running at 800x600 on one monitor (for simplicity's sake). If you were to extend onto the 2nd monitor, you'd be running at 1600x600.

Also, use UltraMon, great app. Google it.

yup im using ultra mon right now

but i want to run 2 desktop on 2 monitor on 1 system.. does that make sense?

right now im using a 9500 pro on my main monitor and a 9200 on my 2nd mon

Umm... you mean like 2 start bars, 2 my computers and all that?

Yes, there's a simple solution. GET ANOTHER COMPUTER :p

Hmm. I know how to do this on Quadro's but not 9500's and, unfortunately, I'm not at home to play with the Cats and figure it out for you.

If you can't find any joy in the Displays tab, try downloading HydraVision from the ATI website. It'll probably do what you want.
