silly questions, i can't find much on this using google - so i did try!

i have a dlink DIR-655. would like to improve its range, can't really move it due to location of wired hookups. i was looking at some of the signal extending antennas, since my router has 3 antennas would replacing all 3 be necessary?

also, any cheap dirty ways to help the signal?

I've done this once before, works surprisingly well. The key is to get the tin foil REALLY flat (think mirror finish).

This template is best for 2.4 GHz only, which it looks like that AP is. This works great if you have your AP against an outside wall, then point all the parabolas inside. If its in the middle of where you need signal point each one in the directions you need it most.

thanks drew! i was hoping for something like this. and yes router is near an outside wall, and i'm trying to get it into the basement with stronger signal lol. it works, but signal tends to be a little weak in some areas.
