increase memory multiplier or uncore first?

I am overclocking my i7 920. I increased the cpu vcore to 1.4, qpi/vtt to 1.335. Those are the only voltages I touched. My memory is rated at 1600. Right now I am running it at 1200 and uncore at 2400 (testing). So far with those settings it is running for 10 min with both intel burn test (xtreme setting) and prime95 (1344 and 1792 ffts) for about 20 min. I am going to keep on testing but I wanted to know should I increase the memory bit by bit and change the uncore the same time? Or should I increase the uncore and keep the memory the same? What is the best path to find the sweet spot?

Just need a little direction.

As I recall, the uncore is directly tied to the memory, so increasing the memory will increase the uncore as well. Leave the uncore alone and just change the memory, the uncore will change with it.
 
Yeah increasing the memory does not change my uncore. Right now I have memory at 1200 and uncore at 2600. Is there any benefit to have a higher uncore than 2x memory? I have my bclk at 200 with a 20x multiplier. Running at 4k. I tried using the full speed of my memory 1600 but my system locks up. The next step up from 6x(1200) memory is 8x(1600) and my system doesn't like that. All of my 6 dimm slots are filled with 2gb dimms(triple channel) Hmm. What else can I try?

Edit: My board is Gigabyte X58A-UD3R rev 1.0 with the latest bios.
