A while back I was usig my samung 512mb ram.
I got another stick of ram made by umm idk...the ramdacs have K-byte on it.
I just got some stuff they has at bestbuy cuase I had money to spend and i was like woohoo 1gb ram!!

So i had both in there. After playing CS:S for a while it would crash and reboot.

I let this ahppen for a long time.

I was wokrin ont he comp and was liek maybe they dont work together? So i took the kbyte bakc out. It itself works fine on another comp.

But with my samsung it crashes or I believe that was the problem.

Could the latency timing be off? Like if you have different stick do you need ot change the timing o match eachother or sumthin?

yea i read that...after i found out there is a memory section. still not what i need.
i just have 2 different brands of ram
both are pc3200 512mb
but when i use them together it appears that they were cauign shutdowns. could it ave been a glitch in CS: S back in say january that was causing this and it is fixed and i thought it was my ram and it wasnt?

It could simply be that the two brands don't get along together. As a side note, check the timings. It could be that somehow they're running at messed up rates. If you know that each module works by itself, but they don't work together, then it probably means that they simply aren't compatible. Hell, I've had identical modules of RAM that wouldn't run in dual channel. Hardware is a mysterious thing....

Good luck with that though. Sorry if I couldn't be of more help. :(

::EDIT:: As far as CS bugs, I don't really know. I don't play CS (I know, blasphemy), but I've had buggy games crash my comp...Bethesda products being on the top of that list.
