My PC at work seems to have lost its ability to overclock. Here are the relevant specs:
CPU: E5200 (stock cooler)
Mobo: Biostar TP43D2-A7 (I know this board sucks)
Memory: OCZ Platinum 2x1gb DDR21066
PSU: Earthwatts 500
Vidio: 8400GS
O/S: Vista Business
I used to have a S1283 cooler on it, and I was able to run it at 3.5GHz without any issues. I have since removed it and just ran it at stock speeds for the last couple months. However, now when I try to overclock it by 1MHz, it won't even post. Even underclocking won't post. I can change the memory timings without any issues, so I don't believe that is the problem. The only other change I have made was replacing a HD4670 with the 8400GS. I have overclocked a few 775 mobos, so I more or less know the main issues with BIOS settings.
My biggest issue is that I can use the auto overclock to run it @ 2.75 without any issue. Everything is less than 2 years old. Any ideas on what to check?
