cause polk is like 250 for one

i was thinkin of goin all infinity?
what do u guys think?

That's up to you. Make sure you get inwalls with a movable tweeter. Then you can associate the tweeter to the listening position.

In Walls is more about installation than normal box speakers, so make sure you take care in your installation.

well our new house has in-wall built in,
let me get some pics

Well other than the center speaker placement is deplorable, that looks very very good.. So the home builder does not offer speakers in place, or are you replacing existing speakers?

Man that couch looks comfy!

sorry first part confused me, and thats the model home, ours gonna look better :p

the homebuilder offered it but it was like 1000+ and i think it was just jbl audio, i was thinkin of just 5 speakers and gettin a sub in the corner

Ah gotcha... well, the infinity's look nice, but not sure since I have not heard them installed. My favorite are Paradigm in-walls with a close second being the ones I purchased the HTD W80.

In Walls I have heard installed are:

Polk (the entire series)
Paradigm
HTD
The older infinity, not the new versions
MTX
Niles Audio

There are lots of folks in the AVSForum that may allow you to come on down and hear their setups. I would check there if you want to hear them. If I was going on blind faith, I would take the HTD for the money. Otherwise, money no object, I am going Paradigm Reference.

hmm ima look into htd, how did the older infinitys sound?

so what if i didnt use the center channel speaker and just had 5 speakers cause we dont really want to drill another hole in the wall, so 5 speakers and a sub would sound good too?
any suggestions on a reciever?

The older infinity's were decent, but lacked low response. The owner had 2 subs, one on the upper frequencies (160-80) and another on the lower frequencies. The infinity's without a sub were lacking. That could be because they were 6.5" vs. I went with 8 inch mids in my inwalls.

I have mine pair with an Dual SVS CS Ultra in a 22x26 foot room. Mains however are Paradigm Studio 100's and a Studio CC for the center.

However I have the circular version downstairs in the dining room ceiling. I can tell you they sound very good, and not lacking in lower midrange like I felt the Infinity's were. Actually I felt the polks were better than the Infinity's.

yea and polks will put a big dent in my wallet lol, 250 for one
