Improve my 3DMark06 score?

i5-2500K, 6970, 8GB, 2K8R2, Hyper-V with RemoteFX. With everything at stock, I'm hitting a 3DMark06 score of 5500 or so in Win 7 Ultimate (virtually), 22000 natively. I'd like to at least double the score, but realize that I'm over my head. Are there any tweaks out there to help out a virtual machine, or should I just accept what I've got and be thankful any acceleration is supported at all?

old ass program that has no clue what to do with the i5 2500k, so no your really not going to improve the score. unless you are trying to break a record or something running any of the 3dmark benchmarks is a waste of time, especially the really old ones.

You should easily be able to beat 22000 with a decent OC on the CPU.

I should clarify - I'm trying to get over 5500 in a virtual machine. I only mentioned the 22000 to show the gap between the virtual machine and the host. I'm using 3DMark06 as a benchmark. Is there a better one out there? Remember that I'm limited to Direct X 9, so the newer 3DMark/PCMark/etc won't start.

If you increase your native score I think your virtual score will increase.


22,000 seems low.

Looks like HD7970 doesn't do DirectX 9 that well.
