Important Question regarding Doom3 Hardware tech article

In the article Kyle states that a 256MB card is recommended for playing Doom3 in High quality mode, and later in the article the benchmarking says a system with a Geforce 6800 (128MB) and a Athlon64 3000+ achieved a minimum FPS of 35 at 1280x1024 on High Quality! That would be more than acceptable for me. Were these tests done in areas with enough texture's to stress the 128MB cards? Also, would a lower end card with the extra memory perform better in high detail than a GeForce 6800 (128MB)? Thanks in advance!

It's hard for anyone besides Kyle or Sean to answer that question because the game isn't out yet. Go read that article again and you won't be worried about getting a good gaming experience. From what they say the game looks great even with "old" hardware.
