iMac hard drive spacing is vanishing (1-2 gbs a day)... no backups running

came across an iMac and the available space on the hard drive is slowly and surely disappearing. i have looked extensively and cannot find what is taking up all the space. there are no backup programs and time machine is not running. yet you can refresh and see the hard drive space is slowly disappearing. about 1-2 gigs a day.

You should have this moved to the Apple forum if you want more assistance. Try using a disk inventory utility to see what's going on. You might have some sort of log file or data collection that is ballooning out of control.

i used that tool, thanks! showed me adobe photoshop elements was keeping massive logs. 200gb worth almost.
