I have the WIERDEST problems.
First specs:
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe MOBO
P4 2.4(a) Prescott (no HT)
350 wt PSU (generic)
1 gig (2 x 512) Kinston Val ram (ddr 400) pc 3200
WD 120g Sata Hd
Maxtor 80g Sata Hd
generic 50x CD-rom
Win XP SP1(disk)OS, SP2 installed on WD 120g HD.
Ok. On to the problems.
Computer is freaking out.
1. Sometime computer will boot fully all the way to the logon screen. Once you type in the password and click ok it restarts.
2. Just recently it will not load Windows and says NTLDER.sys file is missing.
3. Switched HD with a good HD with WinXP, Me, and 2000 on it. (IDE..not SATA) Still getting same error. (I know the IDE HD is good and works and boots in other systems.
4. I can get to BIOS 90% of the time.
5. I got the compter to load. login and work with no apparent problems once since this time. (everything connected except the 80g HD) I connected to the internet, played HL2, got out used my IM's opened some Movies, Pictures, Outlook, Word, Everything I could think of to stump the machine somehow. Worked perfectly. I think ok maybe something was screwy or I wiggled something the right way and I shut her down reconnected the 80g. and hit power. No worky. So now I'm thinking somehow the 80g is messing it up. SO out it goes. try agian. No Beans. Now it will not get past the NTLDR.sys file error.
Keep in mind that I get this error from both the CD and the HD(Both SATA 120g and the 20g IDE)
I'm stumped. the processor is not getting too hot. (hardware monitor in BIOS) All the memory checks fine (everytime with no variations)
some people are telling me it's a power issue, some the motherboard. I can't imagine that all my hd's are screwed all of a sudden.
Any experts on here that can shed some light?
