I,ve just purchased a V-2000, BIX3, 3x80cfm fans & a finned alloy res. Rad. & res. to be mounted on top. I'm keen on an OCZ 600 Watt PSU, a dual core pentium & Winston Lab's Arctic Web 437. OOOOyer BUT! the more I read the more power I need. I'm scared! The add boy's at Mean Well psu's would have us beleive that we should purchase a psu that can supply 120/130 + % required output, for longjevity, reliability & stability reasons. If that's so & a 437 Watt TEC is capabale of drawing 33 Amp's @ 27 Volt's, then I'd need ..... well, a PSP-1000-27 I'ts hungry at 1000W, 27V, 33A. Only 100% load potential & the price of several large houses in Australia! OR is the current drawn by the tec directly related to the thermal load placed on it. Hmm now Im confused. Could anyone please shed some light on this for me.

you don't run the pelt at 27 volts, and it doesn't always draw max load.
run it at a bit shy of 24 volts for good lifespan (75%-80% of rated max voltage).
i believe that the manufacturer specs a PSU for use with their pelts, anyways.
if you live in australia, then you might really want to look at a chilled fluid rig, with one of little river waterblocks' excellent G4 or G5 coolers, and avoid the problems of importing.

good call. Their Just down the road & a fine product. Their latest post states that Swiftech will handle production & distribution of the copper Storm/G4. First shipment is set for 27-9-05 @ AU$123. Little River will continue to craft limited, pre order only, batches of the Storm/G5 with >99.995% pure silver base plate.HMMmmmmm! Their at the top of my list. Almost, .... but would a 437W tec max out a PSP-600-24(25A) or a SP-750-24(31A), constantly & run fine, just at a reduced capacity? 
Silverprop quote this TEC as having a ΔT (delta-temperature, the difference in temperature between one side and the other) of 72° Centigrade and a maximum power transfer of 80 watts, when running from its maximum input voltage of 16 volts, at which voltage it draws 8.5 amps. This Peltier element comes with a standard four pin computer power receptacle on it, allowing you to easily plug it into your computer Power Supply Unit (PSU) and run it from 12 volts. Do that, though, and you won't get full performance out of it. Note the "16 volt" maximum input voltage rating; that's what you need to feed this Peltier, from a power supply capable of 8.5 amps continuous at that voltage, in order to move the full 80 watts and get the full ΔT.

And if the full-power heat transfer rating is 80 watts, the 12 volt result's likely to be something like half that, depending on how hot the Peltier ends up getting.

Yes, I think so, thank you. Just have to buy a big ass TEC though.I will pull the pin on the third 600 watt PSU to power the extra TEC's for video etc. They can bake. Never play'd games anyway.But would SLI enhance the experiance of mirrored desktop, with lots of icons, on my dual Sony's? I hope not! Just spent the last 80 hours starring at the carpet trying to work out how to merge a G5 with an Arctic Web, reccon I've cracked it to. It's beautiful. It could potentialy be the most efficient design to date, but I'd imagine such a thing would cost upwards of $2000 for an amature to make, just the first version. Chances are, there's one someware in the world, not far from release. Damb shame about the faze change machine DFI Daishi!! Make shore you build it though. I got all excited about deep freezing my next system a few years ago but the expence, .......k. Hellow, what's happened now? The box I'm screwing together now, to be ready in 6 weeks, will top out at $4000 before I even consider a computer thingy to stick in it! WHAT,yer. My God it'd better be consistantly cold. Now, how to shoehorne an Accelevision LCD84RH 8.4" 1024x768 screen in the front of my case & make it look as if Leanne Lee did it. Who would sell such a thing?

that is not such a good idea. the G5 is a truely excellent waterblock for use in straight watercooling, however it only effectively cools that which is in contact with the center of the block. that is great for a CPU where all of the heat comes from a centrally located, small, core. that doesn't work very well with the more or less evenly spread heat of an opperational peltier module.
that is why i mentioned chilled fluid, as opposed to pelt/cold-plate style sub-ambient cooling with a little river block.

No. As far as l can see the Arctic Web offers the most potential for a peltier cooled cpu, at present. In referance to The G5 & Arctic Web, I was refering to the better points of both design's.In referance to a chilled water system, the alloy res. I have, externaly mounted & 100mm down streem of the rad., has just the spot for a probe like peltier. Just have'nt found one yet. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'll place an order with FrozenCPU.com tomorrow for an Arctic Web unless l find a better option in 24 hours! Anyone?????????????? Is your project still on the go DFI Daishi?

"a probe like peltier"? i have not seen a usefully powerfull pelt that small, and not seen any at all in that size for sale at a retailer. i've seen small pelts at a wholesaler, but i don't think that you want to order 50 of the things.
as for "the project", if you're talking about phase change, that is a dead hose. with the OT that i am pulling this saturday, i make my target for vid card and mobo. no conceivable room for a mach II within what i can afford without using credit that i can't pay back until next summer.
i'm presently involved witha strip-down, clean, lap, and re-build that wil hopefully allow me to neaten things up and maintain my current temps with greatly reduced noise.
