just installed the system tray clients on my computer, so I will be folding with my 4200+ and 8800gts. Not much, but i guess each bit helps. now to find some more boxen... :D
 
that 8800GTS will make a bigger impact then you think.. and like alan said.. welcome to the addiction.. because it will never stop.. :p

couple questions now:

1. I dont think my cpu client is working correctly. my cpu usage is staying between 50-60% instead of being pegged at 100.

2. just out of curiousity, what would do more work, a 260gtx 216 or a q9550?

the vid card would give you more points
 
Welcome. To answer your questions I will start by agreeing that the Video card does more work, and therefore gets more points.

Your other question begs a question to be asked back. Did you install the SMP client or the uniprocessor client. It sounds like you are only using 1 core for the calculation rather than both cores of your CPU.

 
You CPU is at 50% because only one core is in use. The SMP client or running 2 single clients is the way to go.

As said above. On a cost/preformance Vid cards win bout every time.

A 216 will give you almost 2X the production of your current card.

one last question, the gpu client said ati 2xxx, 3xxx, 4xxx, and nvidia cards. would this run at all on a ti4600?
 
WELCOME mnewxcv to the #1 team on the Internet. It really doesn't matter how many pernts you make, as long as you consistantly make them. EVERY freakin' pernt counts in the fight against disease. ;)

if it worked on a ti4600 id have one of the largest farms ever.. i have 5 of those cards in a box in my garage.. even though most of them dont work.. also have 3 ti4200's and a bunch of other useless agp cards..
