As im sure most of you know, many of the computer companies will bundle a computer microphone with the computer. My 6 year old quantex came with an El cheapo computer mic. And i mean it will record voice, but its just cheap sounding. My T's and P's (which i sometimes add more force to) just come out all distorted and when i just record with the microphone doing nothing .... just silence.... there's a lot of noise.
Im looking somewhere in the range of 10-30$US for a mic. It does'nt have to be one that stands on a desk, or a headphone/mic combo... just a normal speach mic that i can talk into occasionally.
I know someone who has a audio-technical ATR20 microphone. He let me try it out and it worked good. when i recorded silence, it actually produced silance. The voice also sounded better, though not perfect. Another main thing i noticed between the atr20 mic and my el'cheapo mic was that the atr20 is much softer(quieter).... (might be the 500ohm Impedance.. who knowns). http://www.audiotechnica.com/guide/line/atr/ATR20.html
Would anyone recommend i get the atr20 for like 20$ at best buy.... or is there another mic that is just as good for the price?
I don't need one for music........... just vocals.
Note: i use my Audigy soundcard with the mic in the "mic in" jack. And i record at ~48000Hz 16bit mono.
~Thanks
