Well after having my samsung 955df for two weeks now im kinda getting sick of it. My biggest enjoyment was thinking i could run refresh rates higher than what was listed. Anyway basically what it comes down to is I paid $200 for 2" more of monitor and 15hz extra of refresh rate at 1024x768. I cant run at any other resolution because its either to low(1280x1024 @ 75hz) or has tons of waves at a decent refresh rate with still some flicker that i see.(1152x864@85hz)

wtf!!!!

what made you think your monitor could preform better then what Samsung stated as the maximum limits of the monitor?

I don't understand why you're complaing about a monitor that seems like it is functioning perfectly within it's limits

any resolution that uses 85hz flickers and is wavey as hell. I thought i stated this kinda earlier.

According to Samsung's website, the recomended resolution is 1280x1024 @75Hz and the maximum is 1600x1200 @68Hz. You're running at a non standard resolution. If this is the only case where it flickers then I have no sympathy for you, you are using the monitor outside of what the manufactuer says is compatiable. If it flickers at ALL RESOLUTIONS THAT ARE CAPABLE OF DISPLAYING 85Hz WITHOUT OVERIDING IT IN WINDOWS then you may have a bad monitor, I would have returned it long ago if I were you.

wow..relax buddy its my monitor not yours dont get upset about it:confused:

Im not overriding nothing, "use the safest fastest mode for this monitor" is checked. The drivers that came with the monitor are installed.

sorry, I've just seen too many people complain about their monitors being shitty when they dont' know how to configure it. I just can't stand it when people rip open a new piece of hardware and just play with all the buttons leaving it in poor operating condition.

(can you tell I worked IT at one point? :D )

It's still within the warranty period. return it to where you bought it. hopefully newegg or monitors direct. And go for the Viewsonic G90f. I had mine set at 1280x1024 at 85hz for as long as I've had it and it was perfect.

I say had. Because I just got my 1760nx today. :)

I bought 2 weeks ago at best buy, of course my woman throws out the box already!

Ouch, throwing away the monitor box is a big big big big no no.. never do that. You now have grounds to dump your gf, nothing but money eating, nagging, monitor throwing away drains on life. Imagine all the toys you could get with the money saved... :)

Always keep your boxes, atleast until the warranty has ended. I had to learn the hard way a few years back. :/ I'd call the company where you bought it from and see what you can do.

I throw my boxes out after about a month for pricey item. A month is a good enough time to know it's gonna stay working. I don't really have the space for them. So I usually just chuck 'em.
