Hi, Im new here. Soo my computers been sitting around for a bout a year now and I decided to put it back together recently. I really need help with configuring water cooling for this thing. Iv got enough parts for 2 loops and thats what i was planing on doing, 2 different loops. OK, parts..: 1 swiftech 3X120mm rad, 1 swiftech 1x120mm rad, 1 1x120 rad "this last one as thick as 2 swiftechs put toghter forgot the brand, its that expensive one every one likes" 2 good pumps, ones a swiftech MCP355 the others a 120v monster. For the blocks they are all swiftech; 1x 2.4 ghz quad core, "it was the first quad core that came out, I have to check", 1x 680i chipset block and 2x 8800gtx core blocks with d-tek uniksinks. Ive got the big rad mounted on the back of a huge lian li case and a small one mounted on bottom on the inside, I can move these around.

Can any one help me out? Please, pretty please? with sugar on top? :)
 
What is it that you need help with? You look like you have a fairly firm grasp on what it is you want to do. What case, and will the rads be internal, or external? What size tubing? Also, what is this 120v monster you speak of for a pump? 12v or 18v sure, but are you sure about 120v?
 
well im wondering if i should run 1 loop or 2. And also what to use the radiators with. The case is a lian li v2000. and that pump is 120v i think cuz it just plugs directly into the wall. oh and the tubing is 3/8" ID. I have the 3x120mm rad on the back external but i might move it to the top or put the 2 120mm rads inside on top.

I personally like running a single loop, but it has more to do with case room more than complexity. If you think the Lian Li can cope with two, then why not? You can always take it apart later if you aren't happy with it.

So, you want to cool a quad core, northbridge and an SLI setup. You could run it on a single loop to cut down on the complexity of the setup, but if you really are set to run dual loops, I'm not sure your radiators can handle the load separately.

Is this the scenario you are looking into?

Pump#1 -> 3x120 Rad -> CPU -> Northbridge -> back to the pump (Loop 1)
Pump#2 -> 1x120 Rad -> GPU1 -> GPU2 -> back to pump (Loop 2)

I'm thinking the second loop's single rad wouldn't be able to handle the heat load. A 120x2 might work depending on your radiator and fan situation.
 
Hi MrE. You hit the nail right on the head. Thats exactly what I was going to do; since i have two bay resivors and the case is plenty big.
The second loop is where im confused to. I have two 120X1 rads. Ones a thirmochill and the others a thiner swiftech one. Im not sure how to set it up. That 120v pump has twice the specs as the smaller swiftech MCP355. I ran it and it is quiet enough to use so ill use it. I can still run one loop if you think that would be the way to go.

No problem. I'm thinking you might want to put no less than a 120x2 that can handle the heat dump of two 8800GTX cores. Again, its all about how complex you want to make your setup.
