I've been trying to find the monitor out there with the highers possible refresh rate at 1024X768. I do know this will most likely be a 21" monitor, and I'm having problems doing side by side research. Does anybody know of a good place to check a bunch of monitors at once? Does anybody know which is the highest?
 
I got a 22" nec fp2141 its refresh rates are below

Resolutions Supported:

640 x 480 @ 50 to 160 Hz
800 x 600 @ 50 to 160 Hz
1024 x 768 @ 50 to 160 Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 50 to 127 Hz
1600 x 1200 @ 50 to 109 Hz
1800 x 1350 @ 50 to 98 Hz
1800 x 1440 @ 50 to 92 Hz
1856 x 1392 @ 50 to 95 Hz
1920 x 1440 @ 50 to 92 Hz
2048 x 1536 @ 50 to 86 Hz

You can find the monitor for around 600-650 shipped. It has a smaller 19" brother the nec 912sb its resolutions are below

My monitor does 135Hz @ 1024x768. But guess what? My Radeon 9700 non-pro does not support anything higher than 120Hz at that resolution. I was quite angry and disappointed when I found this out. Really upsetting that my old Ti4200 could beat out the R9700 in refreshrate...

I'm sure the supported refreshrates are the same on your 9700pro, so you likely won't make use of anything over 120Hz unless you buy a new card. I advise you to check out what your card supports before you make an investment.
 
I have the FP912 and it does 136 Hz at 1024x768 (like above stated), however, Radeon 9600XT can only do it at 120 Hz max too.

Ah well, I run at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 anyways. So if 120 hz is good enough for you with the Radeon series, the Mitsu DP930 or NEC FP912 (same monitor) is awesome.
