I just put together a new system and it has been running great but I wanted to try a little overclocking just to see what I could achieve but, to my horror, I found that I actually lost some performance. All I did was change my FSB from 133 to 143 to make my 2.8 run at 3.0. I ran 3dmark, doom3 and half life stress test. 3dmark lost 1000 points. Doom lost 6 fps and HL stress test lost about 10 fps.

How can this be???

I have really good Corsair XMS Ram, my PSU in Antec 480.
My vcore is 1.6.

I just don't get it!

reboot your machine & perform benchmarks right after reboot. see if you get better results.
