IGN BF2 video preview. Holy crap!!

The video got me really hyped, after watching it 3 times last night. :)

u see that commader mode, is it only one person from each team dat can b a commander? fi so then dat sucks has EVERY1 wud want 2 b a commander

I wouldn't want to be commander. I like to shoot things up close.

I forgot to mention this , but did anyone notice how much the guy was chunking in a lot of shots? Especially in close quarters combat. His PC must be crap or settings too aggressive. I heard nothing about performance like that at E3. Not a big deal, some early videos of HL2 showed some choppiness but it played perfectly for me.

I hope you dont need 2Gb ram to max this game out

It is the first game that I know of that does indeed need just that. I am not going to worry with 1gig though.

Your'e going to need 2GB ram at one point of your life or another and this game might as well be the one to make you upgrade ;)

New high quality video on fileplanet for subscribers.

The chunking from the other IGN video are gone on this one, this guy's PC can hang it seems. :)

I spoke too soon again. This game has some major stutter issues on these videos. I really hope it is just the IGN guy's machine.

Edit: Just finished the video. It is a shame that Fileplanet even considers this good enough to put on their site. That was about boring and lame.

Watching them now,it looks tempting, especially with commander mode. It would be nice to give direction to people so they don't just randomly go out to be fodder. As far as stutter. BF:Vietnam had a lot of performance issues. Even BF:1942 was pretty bad when it first game out as far as performance.

I haven't seen one site that listed recommended requirements with 2gb of memory just 1gb. Yeah it could probably use the other 2gb but I think a 256mb high video card would give much better performance than going from 1gb to 2gb of memory. I have seen recommended requirements call for 256mb video cards.

That looks amazingly good.

June 2005 will go down as one of the PC's best gaming months of all time, with BF2 and GTA: SA! :)

I think it was smart to include a commander mode- that might even attract RTS types that normally don't play FPS games.

I...can't...wait...

yes but with commander mode u can still blow shit up and be at theheart of the battle, havnt u guys seen the vid? the commader was in a tank

Actually, playing natural selection with commanders enabled didn't cause a bunch of fights. Usually some experienced person was commander, and everyone else had more fun anyway by killing aliens :D

[Edit:] lol, umm.. to keep you occupied while you wait, they play a video I guess. Mine was of a fat person photocopying his butt and falling inside the printer. Wow.... I did not expect that when dl'ing a trailer.

o i assume that u have the game some how has u reffered to 'people' not fighting over the command post. i like that feature and hope i can be one on mp mode...

im just worried that every1 wud wanna b that commander and wont get a chance 2 be one :(

Gamespot has their preview up and they said that on a 3ghz machine with a 9800 pro, they had no issues on high settings. They did say that load times were a bit long on said test machine that did have over a gig of ram. They also said that even though they played mostly Europeans and had pings of 200ish, the game ran very smoothly.

I still wish -someone- out there would compare the choppers to DC or BF:V. Watching the IGN guys "fly" was laughable... as was watching that European video "A helicoptor WOOOOHOOOOOOO *crash*" The fighter combat looks fun though, a real HUD, lock on missiles? Boy oh boy, that'd be so fun to get a whole squad on mics together in the air. No morons who fly the plane from point A to B and bail...

Thanks for the info on Gamespot's test Ash, that is good to know.

I have a 3ghz machine, but using a 6800GT.

More than likely. BattleField 1942 said 512GB but it ran best with 1GB of RAM. I wouldn't be surprised (and covered :p) if it ran best with 2GB of RAM.
