Having some issues getting IGMP working with a Cisco ASA.
The objective I am trying to accomplish is setup Microsoft NLB using IGMP multicast. Yes I know NLB isnt preferred, but for the purposes of what I am trying to accomplish in this test environment, it will work well.
The setup is Internet Drop -> ASA (hosts the DMZ) <-> Core Routers <-> Distribution Switches <-> Access Switches.
I have the two hosts (10.0.30.25 and 10.0.30.26) and the NLB VIP (10.0.30.24) addressed in the DMZ. The DMZ interface is hosted on the ASA and is a physical interface (10.0.30.1).
After enabling Multicast Routing globally on the ASA, I tried adding an mroute: mroute 10.0.30.24 255.255.255.255 DMZ dense INSIDE and no success.
I do see the entry in the ARP table on the ASA only, but do not see it in any of the IGMP groups or downstream on the other equipment?
Am I missing something? Any ideas?
