• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
    Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Here is a new project that sounds interesting. They just posted it in the BOINC forums, so it will still have the bumps and lumps most new projects have. They still do not have their message boards up yet, so give them time.

Edit: I created an account called HardOCPtest so that anyone whom wanted to test or contribute anonymously could do so.

to attach a computer to your account without using the BOINC Manager.
To do so, install BOINC, create a file named account_igemathome.org_igemathome.xml in the BOINC data directory, and set its contents to:
<account>
<master_url>http://igemathome.org/igemathome/</master_url>
<authenticator>2224_3ef72ca4d0177926c2ed33eac3662f60</authenticator>
</account>

I just joined. Unfortunately, their upload/download server is down at this time, so I haven't received any work yet. Looks like they have plenty to send though, once the server is back online.

They just enabled BOINC-wide teams and the message boards after my suggestion. I returned one work unit and it is pending. They also said they contacted BOINCStats about exporting stats, so they should be on the boards very soon.

This project still hadn't registered properly since I joined last night, so I went poking around their forum to see if I could find out why. Sure enough, it appears they have the wrong project URL on their front page, per this post:

http://igemathome.org/igemathome/forum_thread.php?id=4

Sure enough, once I changed it to http://igemathome.org/igemathome/ instead of http://igemathome.org/, the project set up properly and I got some work. Anyway, just wanted to share, in case anyone else has the same issue.

Nice catch RFGuy_KCCO. Not sure how mine worked and others didn't. Maybe I used the address for the browser since that works at many projects. Glad you got it figured out. I notice that some of their other links don't work too. But, at least they are actively working on it.

Hey,

our project is now running stable and we have deployed all 3 parts of our application, which is of course great news.

To get a better understanding of steps that lay ahead of us, we want to get your feedback and created a survey: http://+++++++/forms/6HQSvvZYwe

In the mean time we are working hard on the presentation on our iGEM project webpage as we can modify it until Saturday. The final presentation will be on the first weekend of November.

Looking forward to your feedback,
iGEM Team Heidelberg

It is always good to participate in the serveys projects have because that might be the only time your voice gets heard. The link above keeps getting edited by the forum, so you can get the link for the survey from the announcement post here: http://igemathome.org/igemathome/forum_thread.php?id=101
