• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

I'm assuming your referring to windows 8.1 update 1. Paste the following into a command prompt, if the update is installed you will get a response with an install date.

Don't test for version numbers, test for functionality. What are you ACTUALLY trying to find out?

says version 6.3 build 9600
shouldn't it say "windows 8.1 update 1" ?

No, its not suppose to say windows 8.1 update 1. Did you even try my suggestion? You can also simply try and pin a Windows Store app to the taskbar, for example right-click the Music or OneDrive app and select pin to taskbar. If you can successfully do this then u have 8.1 update 1. Last but not least you can start application wizard aka add/remove programs and look for "update For Microsoft Windows (KB2919355)".

Its not a version number its an KB update number, KB2919355 happens to be 8.1 update 1. I believe he asked "how do i tell if update 1 is installed?" This is the question I answered.

Check if there's the power options menu on the Start Screen in the upper right hand corner.
