If you could have any color cat5?

Yeah like most said, its all preference but so far we like to go by these:

Blue - Data
White - Phones
Yellow - POTS (faxes) and for other devices such as IR receivers

Other then that, we don't really use other colors. We might switch it up to make it look neat in a patch panel but we stick with blue/white/yellow
 
my home network has no organized method to it.. but i only use black so to blend it with the other cords and cables running all over the ground.
