Been using Abit for the last 6 yrs now, and have come to really love their stuff. But if they keep this downward trend that's coming to light, any recommendations for replacements? I'm kind of shifting towards ASUS, but I've been too spoiled on all the innovations and accesories that Abit packs in their kits.

Any suggestions ??

Coming to light? It's been in the press for more than two years.

ASUS for desktop. Tyan for servers and high-end workstations. Supermicro or Intel for servers.

if you liked abit, then you might like dfi. one of abit's chief engineers, oskar wu, joined dfi around 2 years ago, since then abit down, dfi up. the legend is that he is responsible for the design, or at least the overclocker friendly parts of the design of the nf2 lanparty series, nf3 250 gb, nf4 lanparty series and the expert boards. what a guy.

ya, im on a abit AI7 for my intel, but DFI will be my next board since im a hard gamer and overclocker.

yup, QFT

After my ABIT KT7A years ago, i'll only buy ASUS from this point. Granted, no crappy ass VIA chipsets though.

ABIT BP6
ABIT KT7A
ABIT KT7E
ABIT NF7-S

ASUS A8N32-SLI

I just couldn't find an ABIT board that lived up the it's past reputation. I went ASUS, and I will see how it goes. I just recieved 2/3 of my machine in the mail, by next weekend I should be up and kicking on my first ASUS platform.

Sorry ABIT :(

Last Great Abit boards were the NF7 Series and AN7.

Most people scoffed at the AN7 as being inferior to NF7, but with a modded BIOS could actually overclock beyond NF7 specs. Of course the credit for the BIOS cannot go to ABIT though.
