The coolest of the 4 cores on the Q6600 is ~37C the warmest is ~40C

Here's mine

Reported idle temperatures are quite worthless between two different systems. Temperatures that far from Tj. Max should not even be considered close to accurate, as the Slope Error is far too great. Of course this depends on the CPU, and ALL temp monitoring programs will exhibit the same problems. The DTS accuracy of 45nm C2D's are horrendous, on the order of plus/minus 10C temperature at 50C. Below that it's even worse. The only time temperatures get closer to accurate, is when they approach Tj Max, so unless you're up towards 100C... only use Temp monitoring programs for personal comparative testing. i.e. Loading at 47C, means absolutely nothing, other than, you're well below TjMax.

The idle temps are accurate enough to fill the "for curiosity" realm, which appears to be all this thread is shooting for.

30-40C; ~20C room temp. i7-950 w/1.33V

I don't know what my idle temps are, because I Fold. 1090T OC to 3.7 @ stock voltage (TC off) under a H50 push/pull @ 1500rpm in a 22C room, 35C on each core full load.

Chip @ 4.8Ghz yields 80/81c across 3 cores and low 70s on fourth core. This is with wPrime - 8 threads - 1024. Gaming load temps are high 61c (highest recorded) with DIRT 2 running.

Idle temps are ~ 33,33,33, 27 (the fourth core is a mystery, so cold)

Coretemp used, ambient temps are prob 72-75f, and Fan profile is 100% on 100% load. Voltage is 1.45 on high load. lesser for gaming.

28C on my 2500k. However, core 2 runs cooler than the others by a few degrees (it idles at like 22C, probably the temp sensor isn't calibrated correctly)

Around 20C w/o OC.
Overclocking takes it up to around 30C.
Those temperatures go up around 10C come summer.

Lately, I've been idling at about 30-35C.

Glad "winter" in Florida is so cold this year... :p

In the winter and most of the time, between 30-40. During the summer, 40-50.

It's interesting that we would tolerate a cold room just for cool temps. Yesterdecade, we would just plop in the chip with standard cooler and never give cooling a second thought.

now that im thinking about it i put my vote on 20-30 but its 14 c lol here is a pic

Phenom II 1090T, I've seen it idle at about 18 C. Usually idles in the low 20's, depending on room temperature and speed of my fans. Also, I believe I need to redo the thermal paste as I have taken its heatsink off quite a few times without replacing thermal paste. Custom watercooling with a D-tek Fuzion V2 and 3x140 radiator.

The above posters are clearly not posting their CPU core temperatures (on every core).

Here is mine (using HWMonitor),
CPUTIN : 24C
Core 0 : 43C
Core 1 : 42C
Core 2 : 39C
Core 3 : 42C

i7 930 4.2GHz 1.35Vcore 1.4Vqpi
Idle @ 2.4GHz
Core 0: 39C
Core 1: 36C
Core 2: 39C
Core 3: 36C

CPU 50C, I have a H50 coming

my e7400@3.5GHz is round 25C idle, cooling with larger stock cooler (from an E6420). my i3 550@4.4GHz is around 23C idle, cooling with a hyper 212+. my Dell laptop with a T7250@2GHz is at 55C idle:eek:

20-30 for me, highly dependent on ambient room temp though.

920, 3.8ghz 1.17v with an NH-D14 and FT02

mine sits at 40ish maybe 50C, dunno cant remember the last time my processors sat idle for more then a minute..

i7-860 @ 4ghz, 1.4v.. i Idle at a fluctuation of 25-30 on all cores and load is never above 65*C.
