ideas for an inventory/pos software

Ok guys here is the situation, my organization wants to move over to a POS/Inventory management software that will keep track of what dept has what computer items. Also want It setup so when the dept requests something we sell the item to their dept. This will hopefully keep track of their spending.
 
There are many, many out there. The cheapest one that I have every really worked with is called Intuitive ERP. It'll do what you need and it's fairly cheap for an inventory system. Support isn't great for it though.

If all you're doing is moving inventory between GL accounts (no manufacturing, labor tracking, etc) why not just create a DB on your own? If you aren't looking on doing in back end accounting, etc. then that might be the best way to go for cost sake if nothing else.
