ideas for a more effecient radiator

i got my new case (antec p 180) and im putting water cooling in it. ive actualy had it set up and running pretty decently for a few months with no problems, but once agian the urge to improve has got the best of me. the goal is to water cool an athlon 64 and 7800 video card without having any parts outside of the box. ive been using a mid 80's camaro heater core as a radiator, seems like a good size for the cooling but a bit large for this case. anyway pics are worth a thousand words so ill post some. baisicly i was wondering if there would be a better way to setup the water cooling, ideas ive had are to put a shroud around the radiator and 2 bottom fans - problem the radiator is at an angle which is certainly not best for airflow but it still keeps the radiator seperate fromt he rest of the case. the other idea i had was possably putting 2 120mm radiators either inline at the bottom or one at the back and one at the bottom - problem requires more parts and might not be enough cooling.

please give me your input, btw i need to keep all the top 3.5 and 5.25 bays.

Only way I can see anything like that working is with a custom shroud. You really dont want air blowing OVER the heat exchanger... works better blowing THROUGH it. Going to have to find a way to keep airflow from being deflected around the rad instead of passing through it.

thats what i was figuring, making a custom shroud is no prob IF it will work. im affraid alot of air is going around instead of through. so you think a custom shroud between the 2 fans and the 180mm rad would be better then 2 120mm rads?

I'd be terribly surprised if just ONE 120mm radiator wouldn't outperform that current monster, given the angle its mounted. It can't be getting even 25% airflow from what a decent perpendicular mounting would give it.

well i agree completely witht he way its currently mounted, so im either gonna shroud it or somehow make 2 120's fit, either inline in the bottom chamber or in in bottom chamber one in top

that fan at the top is calling to you: bolt me on up here. :D
looks like it will fit up there?

You could mount it flush against the bottom and put the case up on legs or casters. Cut yourself a 120mm fan hole in the bottom and wala. You don't even need to make a custom shroud anymore =)

Good Times.
