Sup [H]!

Long time lurker here. Being generally impressed by all the awesome casemods around here I thought I'd come to you for some inspiration.
I recently got my hands on this:

The short sides measure 19cm (7.48031 inches for those of you metrically impaired :p) and considering a mini ITX motherboard is 17cm I thought I try out using it for my upcoming home theater PC build. Below is picture of a cardboard cutout of a mini ITX board inside the case.

As you can see, fitting in a double slot GPU might be a bit too snug. My main worry is ventilation through the case as a whole but I reckon I'll end up just drilling a bunch of carefully placed holes to allow better air flow. I'm also interested in hearing some suggestions for dust filtering.
Initially I though I'd be able to get away with keeping the plastic material on the inside of it but I'm thinking I'm gonna have to get rid of it to be able to fit the GPU.

Here's a pic of the top lid:

Is anyone able to provide me with a measurement of how far in on the mobo the PCIE slot is placed on a mini ITX mobo?
Also, any pointers on the mobo risers? HDD/PSU mounting options?

On my Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe ITX it's 0.79375cm (5/16" for those that are SAE impaired ;) ) from the slot center to edge of board.
