Ideas, anyone?

Okay,

So I am a big time noobie and this is my first time on a forum as well as first time building a computer.
So far these are what I am planning on using to build said computer:
mobo: GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX
cpu: Intel Core i7 940
graphics: dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295
audio: Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional
memory: CORSAIR XMS3 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3
harddrive: WD Caviar Black 1TB
DVD drive: LG 8x Super Multi Blue-Ray Writer
power supply: Corsair HX1000 1000W
cooling: no clue

Now, what kind of case should I be looking for, or should I figure out the cooling before I start looking?

Which case you go with depends mainly on personal preference, so I suggest you just hop over to Newegg and browse their selection for something that catches your eye. As a general recommendation though, I suggest the Coolermaster ATCS 840. The Coolermaster HAF 932 is also a very nice case with excellent cooling, but the aesthetics might not be to your taste.

Agree that case selection should be personal preference. I also agree its a good idea to browse newegg. You don't have to buy from them, but they have a wide selection and the best collection of pictures on each product.

On a side note, I think it is silly to recommend two full tower cases to someone who has listed only 1 HDD in their build. The only other reason to go full tower would be for WC.

I recommended a full tower because of the other hardware he's using. A setup with dual GTX295s and an i7 will benefit from the airflow as well as the amount of space available in the case.

I considered the other components as well, and i still feel full is overkill, but to each his own.

I'll have to agree, espsicially with a first time builder, having space to work in is great. If you want to splurge, the Coolermaster CosmosS is pretty giant. But that is also a crux. A big factor in case picking is budget, how much do you want to spend? Do you mind buying a piece of STUFF case, and upgrading later?
If you want to be really baller, you'd buy the cheapest crap you could find, and make it badass, DIY FTW!@
