I just added my 8800GS into my box with the 2 9600's and now everything is running really warm.

my bottom card is 61C but the top double slot 9600 and the 8800GS are running at 65-67C

is that ok , what should temps be?
 
Yeah your good, I really think anything under 80c is fine and even a little higher is ok most of the time.

I agree completly. I look at it this way.
up to 70c is green light that means good, let it rip
70c - 80c is yellow light that says your starting to get up there
80c+ is where I think the red light comes on and saying danger.

Your Temps look pretty good. I have a box running same specs 3 cards, 2 9600GSO
1 8800 GS on a ASUS P5N32 SLI running 63,65,65 C
 
a little trick ive seen with the double slot cards.. is taking a piece of paper folding it up and sticking it between the cards so theres more room for the fans to pull in air if the cards are sitting right on top of each other.. which would probably be why they are running hotter then before..
 
Ideally the lower the better really, but my GTX 260 runs at a pretty constant 65c and I am not concerned. Thats with the new work units at least.

its actually a stolen idea from kyle when he was testing the 9800GX2 i think it was in sli.. the only way to keep the top card cool was to take a pice of paper.. fold it a crap load times til it was thick enough and he stuck it between the cards to create a gap for the fan to pull in more air..

one day ill get a company to copy my perfect fan design for an sli setup.. but thats not anytime soon..

Our one and only relic spawned a son who was/is a bit of a master duct work builder inside a case. I recall his VCR PC and a few others that required air flow control to keep them cool.

He used the cardboard that comes inside new shirt packaging and the few drycleaners who still package shirts that way.

I like 1/8th inch foam core board, very stiff, very easy to use and cut. The ¼” product will support a high end 120mm fan with no problems.

The secret behind custom duct work is to move air where you want it while not disrupting air flow where you already have it.

An infrared thermal probe and or a multi-meter with a thermocouple type probe will find hot and cool spots in the dangdest places. Both units can be had for a very small investment and the payoff can be really big.:)
