Hey guys. Thought i'd share an idea i've got with you all.
Basically, does anyone remember the Commodore Amiga600 home computers?
I'm not too sure if they were UK only or something like that, but basically, they were like PC's before PC's.
Anyway, i've had one sat up in my attic for ages now. So the plan is basically to turn it into a PC. I've got an old P3 system which is currently being used as the family computer, and its not too bad.
So i'm planning on getting the family to buy a long awaited new family PC, and scavenge the old system for parts.
Now the thing is incredibly small, but, im planning on extending it vertically, using clear acrylic.
This is the first plan i've got so far:
It's a rough paint sketch, but you get the idea.
Lemme know what you think. As soon as I get my digi cam back, i'll take some pictures, and make a new work log.
I was also thinking about the via systems, and whether or not to go for one of those. A via system would mean a lot more cash outlay (Something i'm not too keen on), but i could make the whole thing smaller. The only problem is i've never used one before, so if anyone has any experience with them (especially psu's and the like) i'd appreciate input.
Let me state one thing, this is my first ever major case mod. I've done basic things, like paint jobs and the like, but never anything this ambitious.
Another q, how easy would it be to take a power and reset button from an old case and use them in this? I'm assuming it wud be pretty easy.
Like I said, any comments etc would be greatly appreciated.
