While ordering some stuff for a new computer, I accidentally ordered the IDE version of the following HDD:

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB. I realized this too late to change the order so I went ahead and ordered the SATA II version as a separate order with the intention of returning the IDE version. Now I'm beginning to wonder if there's much of a difference. Should I keep the IDE version and just have the 2 or is the IDE version a lot slower?

Negligable differences. I woulda just kept the IDE, but you have them both on the way now. With that said, if you only need one, and can return the IDE drive, go for it since you might as well keep the newer technology.

Possible to go RAID with them even though they are different connection interfaces? My mobo is the Asus P5W Dh Deluxe.

Another thing to consider: some of the newer motherboards might not have as many IDE controllers (one of friend's mobo only has one).

I made the EXACT mistake with the same HDD! I am going to stick with the IDE, and just get two of these round UV cables, one for HDD other for DVD-R. I had so much stuff to order that I just forgot to make sure it was SATA.
