IDE to SATA converters

I have an 80GB maxtor (7200RPM, IDE) and i was looking at some IDE to SATA converters on Newegg - should i get one? is there a difference in performance?

Most likely there will be performance loss so why not just connect them via IDE

no performance loss, at least w/ the IDE--->SATA converter that came w/ my NF7-S.

have my 160 gig boot drive on it. No problems at all so far.
