So I bought the Soyo Dragon KT880 because I wanted all that drive space (it can support 12 devices onboard). I had to RMA the first one I got because neither IDE1 nor IDE2 would read drives. I went through the whole ordeal of trying different drives, cables, and even setting everything up on a wooden table to check for shorts, and it seems that the channels were just bad. So I got the replacement, and IDE2 still won't work. It misreads all my hard drives, and thinks my DVD burners are tape drives. So, just to make sure before I have to take everything apart and RMA again, is there anything I can try/do to fix this myself? Would trying to update the BIOS (if an update is available) help anything? Do I just need to kill myself? What?

Here's what's attached to the board, just to help:
AMD Athlon 2500+ Barton
2GB generic DDR333
2 DVD burners
3 PATA hard drives
1 SATA hard drive
1 floppy
