So I had a 160gb ide hard drive on my NF750-G55 motherboard, I just got a wd green 1tb hard drive, I hooked up the sata, and power for it, while boot up, it showed that motherboard has detected hard disk at sata 2 position, which is correct. however, when I load the computer up with a windows 7 setup disk, it does not display any additional hard drive other than the IDE that I already have.

so
1. Do you think theres any conflict between IDE and SATA, which makes them unable to co-exist?
2. If IDE and SATA should run fine, what can I use to check if the SATA hd is still alive?

You may need to use Windows' Disk Management program (it's part of the Administrative Tools) to recognize and format the WD Green drive.

There's should be no other conflict in recognizing the drives as each SATA port operates on its own channel.
