IDE Extender

I have a 24" IDE cable that is a little too short. I am wondering if there is a way to extend the cable, since I am very cheap

sure, grab an old one, cut it, strip the wires, strip the wires of the one you want to extend, then solder away!

I thought 36" was too long for the ATA66/100 spec, but I'm too lazy to check, lol.

36" is indeed too long for the spec, but that doesn't mean they won't sell you one

spec is 18" iirc.

Yep the spec is 18" and I have yet to have a problem with 36" cables.

I haven't noticed any problems with 24" or 36." I guess it's just me
