IDE Compact flash things.

CompactFlash cards are much slower than hardrives. So your would increase your load times dramatically.

Not to mention CompactFlash, like all flash memory, has a limited write life. You can only erase/write to a flash memory cell so many times.
 
Oh...ok...I thought it was just usb pen drives that had limited lives...
