Ok, I shoudl probably know this, but I don't....

I want to have a shorter IDE cable so that I don't have to keep folding and tucking
crap away. I've got round cables too, but they seem worse to hide in certain areas.

Can I just cut one section off of an ordinary IDE cable and use the remaining piece
with two connecters as a short Master only cable. I didn't know if the middle connector that is for the "slave" drive is wired any differently, than the main one.

thanks

if i remember corectly (from forum reading not personal experience) yeah you can just cut it down, and either use the top 1/2 or the bottom 1/2. just be sure you set what ever your hooking itup to as master with the jumpers. hopfully some one will back me up on this (or try it with a crapy ide)
