I can officially vouch for there products. I saw each and every one of them this weekend, and all are top notch when it comes to quality and functionality. I actually won one model, and it is very nice, although its one of the more basic models they have. They are somewhat small right now, like the reps said, so Im trying to spread the word by telling people that I personally think they are great. You should try em out if your into these sort of things, though lots of people arent.

I'd have to agree with you on that. I have one of their 3drive U320 enclosure's (the MB016) and it's very nice.

while generally you are able to use caddies without issue
you should test them especially anything that isnt SCA SCSI

Or: Why Ribbon Cables are unsuitable for RF transmission of date

The following article was written by snn47 to address some of the issues associated with standard ribbon cables and the use of e.g. removable drive racks as an attempt to share some insight into factors that can adversely affect the life or reliability of of desktop Hard Disk Drives. Specifically, issues like why some drives are working in some systems and not in others, the impact of cable routing and why is it that the drive manufacturers always recommend using their own cables (if supplied with the drive).

this is equally applicable to SCSI and SATA
especially for SCSI Hotswaps

for ATA you can use ATACT (see third post in the SATA Cautions) or employ a series of transfers and a checksum for comparitive purposes
fsum (freeware)

I ditched my swap caddies when my RAID 5 log showed errors
test them hard before the RMA period is up ;)

Building what amounts to an external enclosure, and adding any additional interface
especially one that is being regularly plugged and unplugged introduces signal quality issues that need to be verified ;)

some good reads. never had a problem with mine, but i don't swap them out all the time, only done it once to install them the first time.
