has anyone ever tried on of these enclosures? im wondering how it is hooked up to the system. obviously its sata internal with the drives but the pis look very decieving on how its hooked into a raid card or onboard sata.
 
do a search, I think to remember that someone was considering to buy/ using their 5-in-3 enclosure.
 
Just put one on my HTPC system. It has : 3 power hookups consisting of 1 SATA and 2 Molex and 3 SATA data cable hookups. The SATA power hookup is a bit close to two of the SATA data hookups, so some care is necessary. Currently running a 36 gig raptor and a 200 gig maxtor drive in it. Only had it running about 3 days but all seems OK. Picked it up on e-bay NIB for 61.99 (49.99 + 12.00 S/H). I know the s/h is a bit steep, but it beats the retail prices i found (roughly 89.00).
