Hi, I have this huge problem with sharing an Internet connection between my two computers. My "server" computer, connects to a 4-port SpeedTOuch 500 modem (all computers connected directly to the 4 ports acces the Net as soon as the network cable is plugged into the PC [Plug and Play]). I was trying to use two MSI MS-6967 Bluetooth dongles to network the two PCs, I followed the manual, and connected the client with the server using the Network Access Profile; I tried this about several times.
In my first try, I used windows Home Network Setup Wizard,disabled ICS on the LAN Adaptor(conencted to the SpeedTOuch), and followed the instructions, and setup network on both Pcs, here I could share Printers, send files, use the "Net Send", etc commands, access shared files and folders, and probably do others, but I COULD NOT access the internet. I tried going to Tools>>Options>>Connections>>Lan Settings in IE, and tried detecting settings automatically, as well as inputting the IP address (found by sending a message or file from the server to this client, and viewing the firewall log),I set the port to 80. This did not work, I then did what windows Troubleshooter told me to do, and manually inputted the IPaddress in The Bluetooth Lan Access Server COnnection's TCP/IP Properties in NEtwork COnnetions of COntrol Panel, Ip address was set to 192.168.0.1 first (and when this didnt work i tried 192.168.1.1), Subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.2. Still This didnt work, I then tried corresponding this data in the bluetooth lan access server conenction on the server but still didnt work, as a matter of fact when I manually inputted IP,subnet etc, the network which isetup with windows stopped working, and file sharing, printing etc had connection errors. I am fed up with this.
I now plan on setting up a wired connection to that PC, but I want to know if that would work or give same problems. Also I would like to know if I can split the ethernet connection (as a Y split perhaps) to go into both Pcs so that setup will not be necessary. Also, do you think perhaps I should purchase a hub, and place the wire in my working NEt Pc(server) in the uplink port of the hub, and plug the two Pcs in the port.. or will this also need intense configurating?? Or Can I buy two network cards, put one in each system and try a wired one, would that work (I had a crossover wired conenction with Win XP and Win 98 Pc's and ICS worked Fine).

Distance between two pcs: about 15 feet.
Speed when conencted: 700kbps on WInXP and 1Mbps on WinXP sP2
