yea i didnt know where to put this so i decided to put it here..those annoying little background colors on the desktop icons are really annoying me and i cant figure out how to make them go away. ive seen in the pictures of desktops threads that alot of you guys know how to make them go away :( plz help!!
 
????I guess right click on My Computer, goto properties, choose the Advanced tab, goto performance/settings and choose adjust for best appearance??? Then apply..
 
If you don't want to change all of your other display preferences do what the person above me said except don't set, "Adjust for best appearance"

Just go down the list of items to the bottom and you'll see an item that says, "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" and then you'll have it. Enjoy.
 
Try this. System properties window. Click “Advanced” Under performance click “Settings”. Check the “let windows choose what’s best for my computer”, which is the default setting.

grr i know you guys are trying to help but this just isnt helping :( ive done what you say and the annoying black border still remains.
oh well..i like the all black ID&T wallpaper anyway so i guess i can use that..
