Hi,
I have just installed the ICC profiles downloaded from the Eizo site on my Windows 7 PC running an Eizo S2433WFS-BK.

To do it I've done this:
1. Click the Start button and select "Control Panel".
2. Click "Appearance and Personalization".
3. Click "Display".
4. Click "Adjust resolution", and then click "Advanced settings" of "Change the appearance of your displays".
5. Select "Color Management" tab and click "Color Management...".
6. Check the "Use my settings for this device" and click "Add...".
7. Click "Browse..." and specify the folder where the Color Profile is saved (the CD-ROM drive or the folder where the downloaded file is saved) in the "Look in:" section.
8. Select a suitable Color Profile from the list then click "Add".
9. Select a suitable profile from the list in the "Profiles associated with this device:" and click "Set as Default Profile".
10. Click "Close" to close a menu.

Ok, it's done but I can't see any visible difference nowhere, why?

First, I doubt ICC profiles downloaded from the internet (or from driver CD) make too visible changes, or if they do they are usually for the worse especially if you download ICC profile made by someone with same monitor unless you get lucky and have monitor that is very similar to his/hers. Every monitor, unless carefully factory calibrated, are somewhat unique and need their own ICC file made with calibrator.

Second, ICC files only work with color managed software, like Adobe Photoshop or similar, or Firefox browser with color management enabled. Majority of software are not color managed and do not make use of ICC profiles at all. With hardware calibrator you could make accurate adjustments to color temperature and gamma and this affects everything you see in your monitor for the better, but actual color correction does not work anywhere else but in color managed software. Its sad really, especially for wide gamut monitor owners.

*edit* Also, Im not sure if windows 7 background is color managed, (Vista isnt) but its image viewer is. If the background is not, put some picture to your windows background and open the same one with image viewer and compare them with each other. If the ICC is doing anything, it should be visible on the image viewer. Unless your monitors default colors are already damn accurate that is.

I wouldn't bother using that. On my old Vista machine, I found using the Control panel to set ICC profiles was useless (though you still have to add the profile). Not sure what your OS is, but I found there are 2 ways of setting an ICC profile correctly.

1) A program does it for you, such as the calibration software that came with your colorimeter.

2)Use this program DisplayProfile and switch between ICC profiles on the fly. You can also see which ICC profile is currently activated because it has a * next to it.

Like I said, you still have to add the ICC profile via the control panel method, but I used to find selecting one afterwards was buggy.

See if that helps!

thanks for the reply, in gimp when using the ICC Profile downloaded from the Eizo site colors, are really more accurate.
I haven't remembered to set ICC profile also in the software, so I doesn't seen any difference, now its good. Thanks.
