Im a n00b OC'er for some reason everytime I try to OC a little bit, it says DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER right after it verifies the DMI pool. I havent tried to even mess with any of the voltages. Any help would be appreciated, i dont know what to do - I would just like to overclock.

Abit IC7 Max 3
Pentium 4 3.0E
2gig Corsair XMS3200

set the pci/agp ratio to fixed and set it to 66 for agp and 33 for pci.. forget exactly how it is in bios

thanksa bunch you helped me solve the problem, i have another question on when to set vcore and what upping the voltage actually does

you set vcore to increase the overclock you get... see what the max is and if the temps are low increase the vcore and then check back on cpu voltage, if its cool instease fsb some more untill its not prime stable anymore(if any of that needs detailed clarification i will clarify)
i wouldnt go past 1.6 on stock cooling tho.. intels cooling is great but not that great.. prescotts are hot stuff... so you might not even be able to get that high

yeah please, i have crappy heatsink and need a better one but im wondering why the vcore needs to be increased for comp to be stable, like what the vcore is really for. someday i wont be a noob,

i also have a question about my ram latency i have 4 corsair twinx 3200 and im wondering what each number in the ram latency means, for instance my ram is 2.5-3-3-8 and im not sure if thats good or not

and whats it mean in prime95 when it says :
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4

that means its not stable; try upping the cpu voltage a notch also... you remembering to use a divider right?
