heres my setup:
ABIT IC7-G max 2

IDE1 Master - lite-on DVD-ROM
IDE2 Slave - 4gig linux/grub boot loader

SATA1-80gig WD MCE 2005
SATA2-80gig WD DATA

SATA3 - broken
SATA4 - NEW DVD-RW

when I add the new dvd-rw it will detect my hardrives but it will stop and say "boot from cd" but I can't get any further. if I try different bios settings it will just stop at verifying DMI data. what bios setting do I need to get this drive to work?

okay, update

it seems what is happening is when I install the sata drive...(when I just plug it in) the 4.7gb isn't detected, which means my bootstrap loader isn't detected. I have the settings set to enhanced mode which is supposed to support up to 6 IDE devices. the 2 WD 80 gigs are set to IDE3 and IDE4.

okay so I know this has been finished for a while but having the same problem and can't remember how a fixed it. there is no 4.7 GB now.

now its not detecting a boot disk (replace system disk) it detects my drives as IDE 3 and 4 and one lite-on drive as IDE 2 master

i just cleared the cmos but cant remember the settings I used.

thanks

someone please help! ive been trying to figure this out all night!
