I wanted to know if I can put a raid 0 setup with both my wd 80gig hd's their ata 100's and yes I tried to search but it says the administrator has disabled this function.

yes, but you'll need a pci raid controller card. Considering the cost, your money might be better spent just buying two sata HD's to setup a raid0 config. Or, for a little more then a raid0 controller card; buy a single raptor hard drive.

Yes, you can do this. All you need are two Abit Serillel-2 SATA to IDE adaptors and then use these to hook up the drives to the ICH5R SATA ports on the board, then you just set up raid as you would normal SATA drives.

thanks nitro I was thinking that afterwards but wasnt sure I think I am going to do that for now the other way is a little extreme

Dont those adapter's cost over $20 a piece?

Your money would be much better spent on a single raptor. I'm going to be selling a brand new one for a $100 if you're interested.

check some forums for the adapters... i bought 2 abit serillel-2 shipped for $30.. well worth it ifyou ask me... especially since my old drives have a much longer warrenty then brand new sata harddrives..(except for the raptors)

I am going to wait until prescott comes out to see what prices are I hope they have a good deal at IPD for them
