Ive been looking around for a new laptop for a long time, and so far the lightest laptop with high performance for very little ive found was at ibuypower.

Anyone know anything about their laptops?

I know that their Desktops are very high quality. Have a friend with one, runs like a jet engine rubbed down in cheeta blood.

I am tempted to get one, they have a sweet price tag on them. It'll have to wait until June or July though. :\

Someone on notebookforums.com got one recently. They said it was pretty good, but didn't go into too many details.

I also have been eyeing their notebooks because they seem to have a pretty good price/value for what you're getting and lightweight but there is a real lack of customer opinions about their notebooks that makes me hesitant (not that its a bad thing but I like to read first hand encounters with these things), but I don't have the time to send it back in case something happens, I'm leaving in less than month. If I had a bit longer than that I might have tried it. If I can find a nice in depth review of one and it's good I might consider one for my next purchase (though that'll be in a long time since I'm just getting one hopefully).

I emailed them today and apparently the Battalion-101 s and sl have a battery life of approx 3 hours.

the more i look around, the more i like their stuff. screen resolution isn't the best, but for the price its pretty sweet.

i do know that their batallion SL series (AMD64 based system) is based on the Mitac 8355 system. this is the same system that voodoo PC sells under the envy m:855 (i think that's what it's called) and hypersonic PC's Aviator AX6 (again, i think that's what it's called).

i also know that their higher end p4 HT chipped systems are made by uniwill...ABS pc uses those same systems.

i think their products are fine. as far as customer service and such...mmm...that's where i'd be leary...

Actually there costumer service is geat. My first desktop I ever got was from them, now my brother uses it. A few months ago he dropped it on the way to one of his first LANs(ouch, I know). When he called in to ibuypower he told them he dropped it and they replaced the mobo for free and had it back to him in a week.

Yeah, I just talked to a friend about his ibuypower PC and he loves it. Only had one problem when his cathode stopped working, they send him a new one, no questions asked. Customer reps were friendly and well spoken. So I'm deffinately looking into them for the Battalion-101 E-Series. Great system with a nice rebate free pricetag. :p
