mostly word processing, email, internet explorer, i would like photoshop though, not much else i guess
 
enough to handle most of the job. IIRC, it is Pentium M, not P3.
it is lighter too, 2.7lbs! go for it.
 
Should be fine. I would recommend adding ram though. I'd say at least 768mb as photoshop loves ram. I added 512mb of ram from crucial.com to my r40 and it's made a huge difference.
