IBM Serveraid M5015 Help

Hi i have a IBMServeraid M5015, it is connected to 3 x 4TB drvers.
i hve set a raid 5 and done a quick initialize, have windows server 2012 standard on a ssd.
my problem is when i transfer files to the raid 5 from another server my speeds start at about 99mb and then drop to 50mb,30mb,20mb then to 0mb and then starts again at 2.7mb.

but if i transfer files to the ssd card the transfer hovers around the 90 - 99mb mark.

does anyone know if the raid card is still initialising inthe back ground could this cause the slow network transfer to the raid 5?
