I got this IBM Netvista motherboard and 800MHz P3 processor from the old case it was in from work. Now when I loaded windows or even Linux it would always just reboot as it loaded somethign. It would stay on at bios like normal but once it hits a certin point in loading some software it just reboots. It has to be the motherboard? Does anyone know why I might reboot? Its got IBM ram from the factory even with other ram it would do the same time. Its got the same powersupply as stock but I cant figure it out. I have tried Windows XP 2000 and Linux. Same time anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Try disabling the cache for the CPU in the BIOS. If it doesn't crash that could be it. Also, a faulty video card (or embedded card) can do the same thing. Heat is the number one thing to cause a reboot, but due to the age of the system, I'd say that isn't too likely. Check with another PSU if you can. bad/old PSU not supplying enough current is a possibility.
