Ok guys. Should I buy an I7 920 now and a rockin MB or do I wait. I keep reading that the I9 will still be a LGA1366. Do we think current boards will have a bios update to support I9? Thoughts guys? LMK
 
Well lets see a i7 920 is $300, or a i9 is $1000, you decide. To answer your question X58 will be the platform for Gulftown.
 
Yes, LGA1366 will have drop-in support for the next Gulftown chips. If your system does not handle what you want it to, then you upgrade. If it does, then there is no reason to upgrade. Upgrade when you actually need to.
